Tarkett has introduced iQ Motion, a new addition to its iQ® homogeneous flooring line that brings a terrazzo‑inspired aesthetic to high‑traffic commercial interiors. The collection debuts with a coordinated palette of 16 colors designed to deliver visual depth and long‑term durability for environments that never slow down—hospitals, schools, justice centers and other circulation‑heavy spaces.
A performance‑driven terrazzo look
iQ Motion pairs a classic speckled visual with the technical resilience that has defined Tarkett’s iQ platform for decades. iQ technology eliminates the need for floor finish entirely; a simple dry buff restores the surface, reducing downtime, labor, and chemical use. Tarkett positions the line as a solution for facilities seeking both design continuity and operational efficiency.
Michael Mathews, senior vice president of commercial strategy for Tarkett North America, said the collection “balances classic visuals with state‑of‑the‑art performance, standing up to the realities of heavy foot traffic and constant rolling or critical equipment loads.” He added that the line demonstrates how responsible design and aesthetics can advance together.
Hygiene, safety, and sustainability
Like the rest of the iQ portfolio, iQ Motion is engineered for environments where hygiene is non‑negotiable. Thermo‑fused welding creates a seamless, monolithic surface, and the material’s flexibility allows for integral cove base installation—eliminating crevices where pathogens can hide.
The collection carries several health and sustainability credentials:
- Asthma & Allergy Friendly certification — scientifically tested to reduce exposure to triggers
- Ortho‑phthalate‑free
- FloorScore Certified
- Eligible for Tarkett’s ReStart recycling program
iQ Motion is offered in 6′6″‑wide rolls and three tile formats.
All 16 hues—including neutrals and soft earth tones—are also available in iQ Motion Acoustic, which reduces impact sound by 16 dB to support comfort and well‑being in busy interiors.
