GROVE, Okla.—A new police station has broken ground for Grove, which has also begun work on a new fire station—with both vital venues designed by Dewberry. Timberlake Construction is leading the build on both projects.

The new police station will be 13,300 square feet and located near the city offices east of Grove, alongside the Grove Public Library. The new station is reportedly part of a $16.5 million initiative that also includes the new fire station. The project was funded through a sales tax increase approved by voters, and its projected completion time is estimated at more than a year.

Anticipated spaces in the new facility include the public lobby, citizen report writing rooms, records clerk and storage, administrative offices, 9/11-dispatch center and 10-day holding cells with a drive-through sallyport.

As one of the first firms in the nation to specialize in justice architecture, the Dewberry design team has provided expertise in this critical market segment for decades. Their prominent justice projects in recent year include Stanislaus County Jail and Public Safety Center Expansion, in Modesto, Calif.; the Stanley J. Roszkowski U.S. Courthouse in Rockford, Ill.; the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center Expansion, in Tulsa, Okla.; and the DeKalb County Courthouse, in Sycamore, Ill.

Timberlake Construction is a full-service construction firm based in Oklahoma City with more than 40 years of experience. Timberlake offers preconstruction services, construction management and general contracting.

A small city of about 7,000 residents, Grove is located in the northeastern corner of Oklahoma by the Grand Lake o’ the Cherokees.
