FORT WAYNE. Ind.—Another major Indiana corrections project is taking shape as construction rolls along on the new Allen County Jail, with completion slated for late 2027.
The new facility is designed to accommodate 1,336 beds, which will more than double the capacity of the current downtown facility. Beyond its size, the project incorporates several important components designed to better serve the needs of the Allen County community, including:
• A 70-bed behavioral health unit
• A dedicated medical unit
• Space for the Jail Chemical Addictions Program (JCAP)
• Modern infrastructure and security systems designed to support a safe, secure, and efficient correctional environment
Security Automation Systems (SAS) was selected to provide the electronic safety and security systems for the new facility. Other key project partners include:

Detention Equipment Contractor: Pauly Jail Building Company
