NEOSHO, Mo. — The City of Neosho officially broke ground on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, on its highly anticipated Public Safety Center, marking a major milestone in local municipal infrastructure. Located on city-owned property at the corner of E. Coler Street and N. Washington Street—just a block and a half off the north corner of the historic Neosho Square—the new development is engineered to consolidate emergency operations and modernize public safety delivery for decades to come.
The single-story structure will bring both the Neosho Police Department and Neosho Fire Department under one roof. Designed to replace outdated existing facilities, the shared facility balances dedicated operational zones for each department with central shared administrative, training, and support spaces. By integrating both public safety branches into a unified floor plan, municipal planners achieved an estimated $1.5 million in cost savings compared to constructing two separate standalone buildings.
Headquartered right in Neosho, general contractor Branco Enterprises, Inc. leads the construction efforts. Getting the purpose-built project to the groundbreaking milestone required extensive planning across a multi-disciplinary team of law enforcement design specialists, architectural firms, and engineering partners.
