The American Correctional Association has formally certified the results of its 2026 election, naming new officers and dozens of incoming leaders across its Board of Governors, Commission on Accreditation for Corrections, and Delegate Assembly. The results, shared with members this week, mark one of ACA’s largest leadership turnovers in recent cycles and reflect broad representation from agencies across the South, Midwest, and Mid‑Atlantic.
Bobby Lumpkin of Texas has been elected President‑Elect, positioning him to assume the presidency following Ricky Dixon’s term. Joe Winkler of Florida will serve as Vice President, and Dr. Anthony O. Vann of North Carolina has been elected Treasurer.
Board of Governors
Seventeen members were elected to ACA’s governing board, including senior corrections administrators, medical leaders, and accreditation specialists. The slate includes Joseph W. Walters (VA), Christopher Carter (TX), Richard Comerford (FL), Vernise Robinson (OH), Latera Davis (GA), Amy L. Ast (OH), Bryan Collier (TX), Dr. Latoya Lane (FL), Roneisha Gilmore (NC), Dr. Marina Cadreche (FL), Dr. Deborah Schult (SC), John P. May, MD (FL), Dr. Xyzeidria Ensley (TN), Jose Quiroz (VA), April Zamora (TX), Dr. Sabrina T. Shannon (FL), and Marcus Elam (VA).
Commission on Accreditation for Corrections
Thirteen members were elected to ACA’s accreditation commission, the body responsible for overseeing national standards and facility certification. The group includes Emmanuel Fontenot (VA), Cynthia Thornton (NC), Amanda Moon (OH), Pamela Hill (GA), Carla Joseph (TN), Dr. Marlah H. Mardis (GA), Catherine Thomas (VA), Jennifer Williams (TN), Jennifer Stohr (OH), Rose Santillan (TX), Susan Miller (GA), Harold Clarke (VA), and Dr. Letunya Walker (GA).
Delegate Assembly
Twenty representatives were elected to ACA’s Delegate Assembly, the membership‑driven body that votes on resolutions and policy matters. Newly elected delegates include Shannon Bond (NC), Denisha Goodman (NY), Natasha M. Reese (FL), Kiana Long (TN), Ruby Davis (TX), Jeffrey Bright (GA), Lisa Kinard (FL), Dr. Pulane Lucas (VA), Christy Doyle (GA), John Coleman (NC), Lisel Stephen (TN), Kevin Runyon (OH), Jessica Ison (TN), Myra L. Walker (TX), Dr. Lashawnda Key (NC), April Buckner (TN), Lucy Easley (TN), Audrey Stokes (GA), Michael Anderson (FL), and Cathy Smith Curry (GA).
ACA leadership emphasized member participation and thanked all candidates for their commitment to advancing professional standards across the corrections field. Newly elected leaders will begin their terms during the 156th Congress of Correction in Pittsburgh later this summer.
