LONE TREE, Colo.—The City of Lone Tree has officially opened its brand-new, 37,324-square-foot Justice Center, marking a major milestone in the municipality’s ongoing civic expansion. Located at 12707 High Note Avenue on the city’s east side, the state-of-the-art facility successfully brings the Lone Tree Police Department and the Municipal Court together under one unified roof.
Previously cramped inside the Lone Tree Civic Center nestled within a residential neighborhood, the Municipal Court now operates in a dedicated, highly accessible environment tailored specifically for judicial proceedings, court users, and legal staff. Simultaneously, the police department gains heavily expanded square footage designated for daily operations, specialized training, administrative tasks, and community-focused outreach programs.
Designed for Security, Accessibility and Sustainability
Beyond its primary law enforcement and judicial capabilities, the new facility emphasizes modern technology integration, elevated security protocols, expanded public parking, and seamless pedestrian pathways. Visitors and staff alike will benefit from welcoming public plaza areas, thoughtfully landscaped outdoor spaces, and a native plant demonstration garden.
In alignment with modern environmental standards, the complex features a robust 2,900-square-foot solar canopy, highlighting Lone Tree’s commitment to sustainable public infrastructure.
A Collaborative Community Effort
The realization of the Justice Center was made possible through strong public-private partnerships and community collaboration. Crucially, Coventry Development Corp. donated the land for the project as part of the master-planned RidgeGate community development.
Design excellence was led by Anderson Mason Dale Architects, with site integration supported by Artaic Group, while construction was successfully executed by FCI Constructors, Inc.
Moving Forward
The facility officially opened its doors to the public, with front desk operations for both the police and court running Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The transition shifts the center of gravity for local civic services toward the expanding RidgeGate area east of Interstate 25. The building hosted its very first official Municipal Court session.
While administrative functions like the City Council and City Manager’s office remain anchored at the Municipal Building on Kimmer Drive, the new Justice Center stands ready to serve Lone Tree’s public safety and legal needs for decades to come.
