FREMONT, Neb.—Local officials, public safety personnel, and project partners gathered this week for a traditional beam-signing ceremony, marking structural topping-off on the future Fremont Police Headquarters and Dodge County 911 Center.
The milestone celebrates major progress on the 43,000-square-foot facility, which will serve as a modern, unified operations hub for municipal police officers and regional emergency dispatchers. Designed to address decades of physical and technological constraints, the multi-story complex will feature secure underground vehicle parking, expanded evidence storage suites, specialized tactical training spaces, and state-of-the-art 911 dispatch consoles.
Lincoln-based general contractor Sampson Construction is overseeing construction under a guaranteed maximum price contract of approximately $20 million, working alongside lead specialist architecture firm Police Facilities Design Group (PFDG). The project keeps critical first-responder infrastructure centrally located in downtown Fremont along East Military Avenue.
Once operational in late 2026, the facility will replace an aging municipal station that municipal leadership had long identified as severely overcrowded, giving local law enforcement and emergency dispatchers a secure, future-ready headquarters tailored to the growing community’s needs.
