DALLAS, Texas—Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), a national, family-owned construction management and contracting firm, has officially commenced work on the new East Dallas Government Center. Situated on a 3.25-acre site at 9731 Lake June Road, the development will include a two-story, 39,000-square-foot office building along with significant onsite and offsite infrastructure improvements. The project represents a major investment in public service delivery and community engagement for Dallas County.
The architectural design of the facility was led by Corgan, a Dallas-based firm recognized for its forward-thinking and environmentally conscious public projects. The building will include a rooftop solar array designed to supply 100% renewable energy to the entire site. “Developing the design for a project as impactful as the East Dallas Government Center is an incredible privilege,” said Matt McDonald, principal and Commercial Sector Leader at Corgan. “We have enjoyed the close collaboration between Dallas County, CBRE, Adolfson & Peterson and the rest of the project team.”
Corgan’s design focuses on both operational efficiency and accessibility, creating a centralized location for essential county services. The new center will house multiple Dallas County departments, including the Constable’s Office, Juvenile Probation, Justice of the Peace Court, Passport and Facilities, and offices for District 1 Commissioner Dr. Theresa Daniel. The goal is to enhance service delivery for residents while providing a modern, collaborative workspace for county employees. Completion is scheduled for Summer 2026.
Environmental stewardship is a key priority for the project team. In addition to the solar installation, the team is pursuing LEED Silver Certification and aims to achieve 50% participation from Small Business Enterprise (SBE) and Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) certified contractors and vendors. This commitment reflects a broader effort to support sustainability and economic inclusion throughout the construction process.
“Construction starting on the East Dallas Government Center is just the beginning of something that will serve Dallas County residents for years to come,” said Zack Rogers, Project Executive at Adolfson & Peterson Construction. “This facility will support essential county services and provide a modern, collaborative space for teams serving the community. We’re honored to play a part in shaping a facility that will be a hub of progress and a reflection of our dedication to excellence.”
