J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. has announced the addition of light-up protection products to its safety offerings. Designed to enhance worker visibility and reduce risk in low-light and high-traffic environments, these solutions are ideal for DOT road workers, construction crews, trucking, towing, emergency response and personal safety.

Illuminated PPE helps workers stay visible in dim conditions, boosting safety and compliance with ANSI/ISEA and OSHA worker visibility requirements. By adding illumination, workers can carry out tasks more effectively and adapt to diverse work conditions, reducing accidents and liability risks.

“Visibility is critical for worker safety, especially in high-risk environments like road construction and transportation,” said Ray Chishti, senior EHS editor at J. J. Keller. “According to the Federal Highway Administration, adequate lighting can reduce nighttime pedestrian‑injury crashes by 42%. This finding underscores the critical importance of visibility for anyone on or near the roadway. In work zones, where workers often operate in low‑light conditions, illuminated safety equipment, such as lighted vests, supports the same visibility principles by helping drivers detect workers sooner and reducing the risk of nighttime crashes.”
