Horton Automatics is raising the bar for architectural design tools with a major upgrade to its innovative platform, iSpecifyIt®. The company announced the addition of customizable shop drawing features, further expanding the tool’s utility for architects, contractors, and design professionals.

iSpecifyIt® has long been recognized for streamlining the specification process, allowing users to build tailored 3-part specs, compile submittal documents, and collaborate seamlessly with colleagues. Now, with the latest enhancement, users can generate single-page shop drawings with precise unit dimensions and fully editable material specifications.

The new shop drawing functionality includes customizable fields for unit width and height, a flexible material specifications table, and editable version tables and title blocks. These additions empower users to tailor every detail to their specific project requirements, improving accuracy and efficiency in the design and submittal process.

“iSpecifyIt® continues to develop into a robust and intelligent architectural tool for design and construction professionals alike,” said J. Elias Campos, Vice President of Marketing at Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions. “The addition of the customizable shop drawing feature further illustrates our commitment to making specifying and submittal creation a process that enhances the work of architects, contractors and all associated industry specialists.”

The upgrade reflects Horton’s broader mission to support the architectural community with smart, user-friendly solutions. With over 200 distribution partners and multiple manufacturing and service locations across North America, Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions—under brands like Horton Automatics®, Won-Door®, and Door Services Corporation—continues to lead in specialty door and access applications.

iSpecifyIt® is available at ispecifyit.hortondoors.com, where users can explore the new features and see examples in action. For further information, Elias Campos can be reached at elias_campos@overheaddoor.com or 469-549-7117.

Horton Automatics is part of Overhead Door Corporation, a Lewisville, Texas-based pioneer in access solutions since 1921. The company operates through three divisions focused on vehicular, pedestrian, and electronic access, serving over 6,000 distribution partners. Overhead Door Corporation is a subsidiary of Sanwa Holdings Corporation of Tokyo, Japan.

With this latest update, Horton Automatics continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and excellence in architectural design tools.
