Garrett Metal Detectors announced on September 9 the release of a significant software upgrade for its flagship walk-through metal detector, Paragon. The update introduces a suite of performance enhancements powered by Garrett’s proprietary advanced AI security platform, marking a major step forward in machine learning-based threat detection.
According to the company, the new software stems from developments in its proprietary AI platform and is designed to elevate Paragon’s operational capabilities across five key areas:
- Enhanced multi-target alarm indication, enabling more precise identification of threat object locations
- Improved pinpointing accuracy without ghosting, zone drift, or false alarms
- Strengthened interference immunity for reliable performance in electrically noisy environments
- Compliance with the ECAC screening program, meeting stringent European aviation standards
- Refined Japanese language menu naturalization to better serve global customers
“Paragon is a powerful platform, and one in which we are going to continue to invest. Unlike some competing products, this software does not require user input and will not evolve its security levels without an update.
