MINNEAPOLIS—Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP),  a national, family-owned construction management and contracting company, has broken ground on its future headquarters at The Craftsman on France in Edina, Minn, marking a milestone in the company’s eight-decade history in the Twin Cities. The mixed-use building reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the Twin Cities and vision for the future.

The Craftsman on France is a mixed-use development by Orion Investments located at 7250 France Ave. S. AP, the general contractor for the project and a lead tenant, will occupy 39,500 square feet across the fourth and fifth floors of the five-story, 136,000-square-foot office building. The new headquarters will provide a dynamic, collaborative workspace designed to support AP’s growth while remaining central to clients, partners, and the broader Twin Cities community.

“We’ve built in this community for nearly 80 years, and now we have the opportunity to build for ourselves—creating a headquarters that reflects our culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence,” said Jeff Hansen, CEO of AP. “This investment ensures we continue to grow alongside the communities where we live and work.”

Designed by ESG Architecture & Design, The Craftsman on France will offer a next-generation workspace tailored to support collaboration and professional development. Key building amenities include an executive training suite, coffee bar, indoor bike storage, underground parking, and an outdoor plaza.

“The Craftsman on France represents the future of workspaces—blending top-tier amenities with a location that fosters business and community engagement,” said Ted Carlson, Chief Investment Officer at Orion Investments. “We’re excited to partner with AP on this project and look forward to seeing the vision come to life.”

The Craftsman on France is scheduled for completion in Fall 2026 and will replace AP’s current headquarters at Normandale Lake Office Park. Be sure to visit our website regularly for the latest updates on AP’s new headquarters and ongoing projects.
