MANTI, Utah—In February, VCBO Architecture had the privilege of celebrating the dedication of the new Manti Sixth District Courthouse. In the company of Governor Spencer Cox, state and local leaders, Okland Construction, and the Sanpete County community, we officially opened this beautiful and impactful new pillar of justice — a project that will serve the region for years to come.
Located in the heart of Manti, this 28,500-square-foot, two-story courthouse replaces the outdated 1930s facility, addressing critical security and operational concerns. Designed with efficiency and functionality in mind, the courthouse provides improved spaces for judicial processes, including two courtrooms dedicated to adult and juvenile proceedings.
The new facility also offers comfortable spaces for clerk services, attorney-client meetings, mediation, probation services, remote court appearances, and more. Security was a top priority in the design, with entrances, parking areas, and circulation routes separately configured for judges, staff, inmates, and the public. A secure sallyport, public security checkpoint, multiple holding cells, and other modern security measures further enhance safety and streamline courthouse operations.
It’s been an honor to contribute to a project that not only strengthens the infrastructure of Utah’s Sixth District but also better serves its communities, reflecting a commitment to fairness, accessibility, and integrity.
