ROANOKE, Texas—The City of Roanoke is making a bold investment in its future with the construction of a new $45.7 million Police Department and Municipal Court facility, set to open in December 2025. Located at 203 Fairway Drive, the 63,065-square-foot complex will serve as a central hub for law enforcement, emergency response, and civic justice.

Designed to meet the demands of a growing population, the facility will house patrol, criminal investigations, administration, records, and property/evidence divisions. A standout feature is the indoor shooting and training facility, paired with a daylit dispatch suite engineered to support wellness and reduce stress for emergency personnel. The building also includes a dual-purpose Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and storm shelter, enhancing Roanoke’s resilience during crises.

The municipal court section is thoughtfully designed with separate public access and circulation paths, ensuring privacy and operational efficiency. The architecture reflects Roanoke’s civic identity, blending modern functionality with contextual design.

Funding comes from a half-cent sales tax approved in May 2022 for the Crime Control and Prevention District, supplemented by certificates of obligation issued in October 2023.

The project is being brought to life by a powerhouse team:

  • GFF and FGMA, two award-winning design firms, collaborated to create a facility that balances security, accessibility, and civic pride.
  • SEDALCO Construction Services, known for its precision in public sector builds, is managing construction and site development.

With substantial completion targeted for December 19, 2025, city officials anticipate phased occupancy shortly thereafter. The new headquarters is expected to elevate public safety operations and provide a welcoming, future-ready environment for both staff and residents.
